What Is High-strength Fishplate and Rail Joint?

High-strength fishplate refers to a fishplate with high tensile strength; it is usually made of a series of high-strength steel materials. Rail joint is a rail section that consists of fishplate and fish bolt and nuts. This reinforced rail track part is designed to connect rail ends and maintain track alignment in heavy-haul railways, mining rails, and heavy-duty crane rails. It provides higher yield and tensile strength than ordinary fishplates. Together with fish bolts, they form rail joint bar that can withstand impacts, bending moments, shear forces, and fatigue loads, making it an ideal rail fastening part for heavy-load railways.

Differences Between High-strength and Ordinary Fishplates

High-strength fishplate can significantly improve the safety and durability of the rail system.

• It has higher mechanical properties such as yield strength, tensile strength and impact toughness, it can effectively reduce fretting and structural loosening at the joints, and evenly transfer the huge dynamic load generated by the train or crane to the rail track.
• It has a reinforced structure that can effectively limit deformation at the rail joint, ensuring that the gauge, alignment, and elevation remain stable over the long term, preventing rail joint sinking or rail track misalignment.

High-strength Fishplate Types

AGICO high-strength fishplates can be used with 4-hole or 6-hole fittings and are compatible with rail types such as 60 kg, UIC series, 50N, JIS 50N, 90A/90R, 115RE, and 132RE. The main types of high-strength fishplates are similar to ordinary fishplates. It has slight differences according to the load level and performance requirements of different track systems.

• Heavy Rail Fishplate： AGICO supplies fishplates for heavy-haul rail tracks with a load capacity of 50–75 kg/m,for example: busy main lines and heavy-haul freight lines such as: UIC60, UIC54, AREMA 115RE/132RE, 50R, etc.
• Crane Rail Joint Bar： AGICO supplies fishplates for runway tracks of heavy-duty gantry cranes, bridge cranes, and port cranes. Our fishplates are suitable for crane rails of KP70, QU80, QU100, QU120, etc.
• Mining & Factory Light Rail Joint Bar： AGICO offers high-strength fishplate solutions for light and medium-sized rail tracks in factory interiors, mines, and railways. Our fishplate provides superior strength and durability compared to ordinary fishplates.
