Operation Guidelines of NZMZ-20 Rail Drilling Machine

1. Preparation and Adjustment

Before starting the drilling work, the operator must learn and strictly adhere to the relevant provisions of the Ministry of Railways' "Railway Permanent Way Safety Rules", so as to ensure safety and protective measures are taken during drilling task. The firest step is securely clamping the wooden sleeper drill bit into the drill chuck, this step is for guarantee of drilling stability. Then adjust the drill bit and the limit bracket distance according to the required drilling depth, and fasten it securely using the lock nut.

2. Drilling Procedures

First step is adding fuel, the operator shall mix gasoline with an octane rating of 90 or higher and 2-stroke engine oil in a 25:1 ratio, and add the mixture to the engine fuel tank. Then, use the primer bulb (oil pump) to fill the transparent bulb with the fuel mixture, ensure all parts are working smoothly.
Start Drilling: The drill operator firmly hold the handle with both hands, align the drill bit tip with the intended drilling position and start drilling, hold the drilling machine verticality and steadly during drilling to ensure drilling quanlity and accuracy. Utilize the limit bracket to control the drilling depth, ensuring consistency for each hole.
Remove Drilling Machine: After drilling, lift the drilling machine upwards while simultaneously pressing the yellow engine kill switch to stop. Then move the entire drilling machine outside the trackside clearance limit.

3. Safety Precautions

To ensure the safety during operating, the operator shall not operate this drilling machine in rainy weather. When the drill bit becomes worn, replace it promptly with a new wooden sleeper drill bit to maintain drilling quality and efficiency. The gasoline engine has a fuel tank capacity of 0.95L, sufficient for approximately 1 hour of drillingoperation.
