A small gasoline engine powers the rail drilling machine. Then the power is transmitted through a dedicated reducer to drive the drill rod to rotate. The feed mechanism is driven by a handle-operated gear and rack system, while the clamping mechanism uses a worm and worm gear structure.
A drill rod support bracket is installed to ensure accurate drilling direction and extend the service life of the drill bit. The machine is equipped with a special hollow drill bit, and if required, it can also clamp twist drill bits with diameters up to φ13.5 mm. During drilling, the machine provides an automatic water cooling function.

The internal combustion rail drilling machine has a compact structure and is currently one of the lightest drilling machines available domestically. The rail clamping device features a self-locking function, ensuring accurate positioning and high drilling precision.

Main Structure of NZG-31 Rail Drilling Machine

The NZG-31 rail drilling machine mainly consists of the following components: Clamping device, Shaft sleeve feeding mechanism, Working mechanism, Reducer, Gasoline engine.

The power generated from the gasoline engine is transmitted through the clutch, reducer, and working mechanism to the spindle, which drives the drill bit to rotate.

Learn How to Operate Rail Drilling Machine Step by Step

1. Installing the Drill Bit

Loosen the 2 set screws located perpendicular to each other at the front of the spindle. Insert the drill bit and align the two flat surfaces of the drill shank with the set screws, then tighten the screws.

2. Adjusting the Support Blocks

There are four support blocks at the bottom of the clamp. Different rail type position markings are located on the side of the clamp body. Loosen the support block bolts (do not remove them), adjust the position according to the rail type to be drilled, and then tighten the bolts.

3. Adding Fuel

Unscrew the fuel tank cap on the top of the tank. Add 90# (or 93#) gasoline, then tighten the cap.

4. Lubrication

Before starting the engine, add four-stroke motorcycle engine oil to the engine and gearbox.

5. Mounting the Drilling Machine

The vertical clamping screw on the clamp can be used as a handle. Lift the drilling machine so that the side of the upper beam of the clamp presses firmly against the side of the measuring scale stop block. Tighten the clamping screw to secure the machine to the rail.

6. Connecting the Cooling Water

The machine is equipped with a pressurized water tank. Fill the tank with clean cold water and tighten the cap. There is a water pipe connector on the side of the drilling machine. Connect the water pipe to this connector, pressurize the tank, and check that the system does not leak.

Important: The water pressure system must be pressurized. If there is no pressure, the machine must not be used, otherwise the drill bit may burn out.

7. Starting the Engine

Start the engine strictly according to the gasoline engine instruction manual.

8. Drilling Operation

When the engine speed reaches 2000 rpm, the spindle can begin rotating. Increase the throttle to raise the spindle speed to about 400 rpm, turn on the cooling water, and pull the feed handle to begin the drilling operation.
